[aRt]_sLab is a collection of creations by students in UCSD's Department of Visual Arts.
Most of the pages are "web-based art;" some are on-line documentaries of installations, photography,
video, film ...
[aRt]_sLab is possible thanks to the support of Dean Deak, Dean of Arts
and Humanities; Tony Wood, Director of Academic
Computing; Rolf Schrieber, UCSD Academic Computing Services,
Professor
Sheldon Brown, Computing Arts Area Head, and Vinh Ly, Visual Arts System Administrator.
[aRt]_sLab is divided into four art modules and
three help modules for your convenience.

The four art modules are:
SINGULAR
: A collection of individual student creations.
MULTIPLE
: Creations in response to specific themes.
COLDSLAB
: Archives of the work of former students.
OUTERWORLD
: Links to external sites of interest.
Our three help modules are:
INDEX
: A helpful guide where you can look for works under keywords and artist names.
TECH HELP
: Helpful tips designed to provided maximum cross
platform compatibility.

aRt_sLab History
[aRt]_sLab was born in the spring of 1995 and was awarded Cool Site of the Day on
May 31, 1995. Boy, were we proud! [aRt]_sLab's original design team was lead by
Professor Christa Erickson and included the thoughts and efforts of students
Amber Bishop, Bryan Kolodziej, Annette Loudon,
Josh Mintz, Jeremy Paster, and Dana Wilshin.
aRt_sLab's re-design was led by Professor Timothy Nohe, with thoughtful and
technical efforts from students Bev Tang,
Kevin Bell,
Lisa Hutton,
Keith Bosworth,
Alexis Brandow,
Lee Wong,
and then-web managers Bryan Kolodziej and Vinh Ly.
